“One part Prohibition fantasy, one part Robin Hood, and a whole lot of epic heist, Shaderunners follows a group of ragtag bootleggers and bohemians who band together in an effort to steal colour from the wealthy echelons of Ironwell’s high society”
Shaderunners is as fantastical in concept, as it is in thrilling in execution.
In a monochrome world where colour is hoarded by the wealthy elite, young Domigo Valdes unwittingly helps a gang of thieves and sees colour for the first time. Hypnotised, he will stop at nothing to join them and see it again.
The awesome fantasy take on the prohibition era itself is brilliant enough, but on top of that, the cast is so engaging and diverse. Queer characters and folks of colour galore; who aren’t entirely defined as such, with their own cultures from fascinating lands.
Hoards of folks at Thought Bubble this year recommended Shaderunners to us, and for damn good reason!
